Are the girls and women safe in our country?

The other day I was standing on the bus stop waiting for my college bus to come, the time approximately would be around 04:00 PM. The place was really crowded, where a lot of people of different status, different background and different culture were there. And let me specify I was wearing Kurta and my friend was wearing jeans and top, We had a field trip that day and were totally exhausted. We bought something to eat for ourselves and sat at the bus stop.

Then we see a man staring at us and making wired gestures, we were uncomfortable sitting there but we didn’t have any other choice, but continue to wait there for the bus. We saw a police officer passing by, so we stopped him and told him about the incident, who advised us to call the police number and file a case against that man or go with him to the police station. We requested him to stand with us until the bus arrived, to which he agreed and stood with us over there. In the mean while two cars came ,one was a white car which stood next to the man who was staring at us, and the other car was black which passed by us, and in that car there were two men and they also did a very bad gesture. This happened while that police officer was standing next to us.

So is it the cloths I put on or is it the mind set of people present here?

The INDIANS worship women as Goddess and that the women are the pride of the country. Where as, on the other hand THE WOMEN get RAPED, TEASED, STALKED and if I come on listing down the things it will never end.

So respect women present in the society because if there are no women there will be no future of the country.

Happy Independence Day to all!!

In 1947 the India got independence from the British and every  year the country celebrates independence day with pride where the President of India address the nation the Prime Minister unfurls the India’s Flag and holds a speech at The Red Fort in Delhi.

India a country with rich heritage and culture, were on one hand we worship women in form on goddess, on the other it is one of the unsafe countries for women . here  the women of the countries go through violence , sexual harassment eve teasing, and humiliation.

After how many years can we the women of today breath in a the actual free space in India, were we can feel safe and secure in our own country?

When will be stop marching with candles, asking for justice for a rape victim? when will be stop having Nirbhay cases ? When will we have the freedom to dress up as per our choice?

We not only need to celebrate freedom, but also give freedom to our children, A safe and secure environment to breath and live in.

Our freedom fighters fought us to the freedom and now except the men in our society no one else is safe and free to express their feelings and thoughts, specially the women of our society.

A recent study states that India is one of the unsafe countries  the worst country for women reports suggest that Indian women are not free from violence. Let us work towards to answer and to give our future generations a safe n secure India of our dreams.
